The safest, most methodical way to run through the repeatable Thieves Guild Plucking Fingers, Idle Hands, Under Our Thumb quests is, first, to equip oneself with The Blade of Woe by completing the initial Dark Brotherhood quest. Instead of sneaking about looking for a string of victims, with possibly a bounty on one’s head, pick out one or two easy marks in a safe area and work them repeatedly. Citizens are good for three successive pickpockets. After that, rinse and repeat: assassinate them so they respawn with full pockets again.

When you are starting out with low pickpocket skills, you’re better off disposing of targets after one or two successful attempts than trying for the full three at lower odds. If you kill them early, when they still have goodies in their pockets, you at least get to loot their corpses and take something for your trouble.

Though this requires a bit of immediate patience, waiting for your victims to respawn, it often amounts to time well spent waiting in safety for the bounty on your head from mistakes to wear off. Overall time and bounty savings can be considerable.

I prefer to target fishers. Nearby water often affords the opportunity for a bit of fishing while waiting. And a jump into water usually enables you to evade angry citizens who detected your not-so-light fingers, without needing to kill them and seriously raise the bounty on your head, or to run helter-skelter through streets into guards.

Ok, so I could not resist the Black Friday White Camel. It came down to the fact that the other beasts just don’t appeal to me. And my avatars like towering over most everyone in the saddle.

Litany of Blood Target Locations

I would call this a Litany of Blood Walkthrough, but not much walking is involved. It’s more a case of patiently waiting. You can run around looking for the Litany of Blood targets, and it is fun to see where they go, what they do, and listen to what they grumble. But below are good spots to wait and bide your time, while enjoying your favorite beverage. Let your target come to you.

These locations are chosen to give you a good safe assassination opportunity. They are not the only possible spots, but I’m a cautious type. A couple recommend you first do in a potential witness to have a cleaner shot at the actual Litany of Blood target. No one said there could not be collateral damage. Personally, I suspect the Night Mother is pleased by a few more corpses. And Nevusa assures me, “There are no wrong people. The Dread Father welcomes every soul you send him, aside from your Brothers and Sisters. Obey the Five Tenets and you have no fear of invoking the Wrath of Sithis.”

This irritable fellow complains he has “much to do.” You can probably take him at work, where he’s sharpening his weapons in the blacksmith shop. But he takes time off to admire the spectacular view up the stairs next door. There’s more than one citizen in this Litany of Blood doomed by dallying over pretty scenery. A lesson to us all.
